I am trying to run the tournamente analisys for a local tournament of ten (10) teams... If I have 2 rouns (10 games) it does work fine... if I try to have it done...for 5 rounds for example... it seems to be taking tooooo long... I left more than 24 hours and got nothing. It shows it is calculating more than 800 billion variables... Is it correct to take so long?!??! It took me 4 minutes to calculate 60 thousand variables...by this rate it would take 100 years for the 800 billion. Can anyone help me out on this one? I am pretty sure I should be able to get this analisys done. Thanks |

That's right. Computation time roughly depends on the number of scheduled games as a power of 3, and thus may be tremendous. For example, 5 rounds for the 10-team league results in 25 scheduled games. Therefore it takes about 3^25 / 3^10 = 14 million times longer than for just 2 rounds. The number of principal variants (i.e. 1-X-2) for 25 games is as many as 3^25 ~ 847 billion. Solution to this problem is possible by making the algorithm less accurate. This work is being in progress. There will be a user's choice between the accuracy and the computation speed. |

Yep...thats exactly what I thought. Thanks for your reply... I really would like to have the asnwer for this last 5 rounds of the tournament... but I am afraida I cannot wait for about 100 years of computation (ahahahah) Any idea when this new feature might be released? Thanks again (Edited by: 26 March, 2007 - 18:23:19) |

It is expected to be released within the next few months. Hopefully by the end of May or in June. Of course, this year, not 2107 |
