1. Alex - 26 March, 2008 - 16:49:18 |
Display of the line (bwin.com) odds is the major new feature of this release. To make the line odds available for viewing and feeding, press a key F2. To make them instantly available, turn on the option Options -> Internet -> Automatically fetch line odds. Fair and line odds meeting criterion Line > Fair are highlighted by green tints. Line odds can be exported along with all others. Another new important feature - background analysis of ratings trends, and its application to odds cells. Odds with an unfavorable trends will be colored in a violet. An attempt to feed these odds to Stake Wizard will be accompanied by the warning message. Trend hints can be turned on/off using the shortcut key F10, or by setting Stake Wizard option Apply trend hints. All suggestions that are missing in this version will be certainly implemented in the further releases. |

Alex, thanks for your hard work. Can you expand on what exactly that sentence above means? Thanks OL |

One might remember one of the tips about using OW: Quote:
Now Odds Wizard does this work for you analysing trends without having to refer to charts every time. How does it work? 1. OW calculates ratings (and intotals) for the date = today - 200 days, and compares them with the current values for each team as follows: Change index (Ci) = (new rating - old rating) / (current ratings range) * 100%, where (current ratings range) = max rating - min rating. 2. Change indices of the home and away team are subtracted: H = Ci(home) - Ci(away) + 5 A = Ci(away) - Ci(home) + 5, where 5 is a tolerance item. If we found H < 0 (A < 0), then betting on home (away) team is not recommended, and corresponded cells are colored in violet. Similarly, hints for unders/overs are calculated. Note that the above calculations are needed to produce a hint, and have no any effect on the odds values. Of course, user may want to double check the charts trends to ensure that hints are correct. |

Alex, Thanks for the explanation. Would it be possible to have the unfavourable trends function available in the export? My thinking is that you would have another field in the export with the "unfavourable trend" team (ie H or A) listed, as well as the cell coloured violet within Odds Wizard. Obviously there would may a number of matches which would have that column blank as no negative trends exist. But I presume this wouldn't be a problem Is that possible? Thanks OL |

hi alex, could a border be set round the cells odds wizard is trying to show us? for me dark green = very easy to see light green = very easy to miss as background is off white example 29/03 GermanyN FortunaD Vs FC Magdeburg is a 2 (away overlay) i have still to see a violet cell yet? or is it me.... Are you planning to add a performance table that's derived from the line odds? This could be excellent way of finding out if selecting just the odds with green cells and betting on them would yield a profit. Betting blind is not to be recommended but if the fair odds OW generates are correct it should be profitable. Also, are you planning to add more bookmakers? If so, may I suggest Betfair. They have an excellent API which, they claim, makes it easy for developers to add real-time prices to their applications. It can be found here. Also, I too am yet to see a violet cell. I have trend hints turned on and I have looked through every league but I haven't seen any violet. Cheers, Theuth |

The odds at Betfair do not always reflect the odds bookmakers offer and the volume is low, so why Betfair? |
10. Theuth - 28 March, 2008 - 13:32:50 |
I've got accounts at quite a few British bookies (Laddies, Hills, Blue Sq) and even taking the commission into account, Betfair are always competitive on the major european leagues. However, I only bet on the leagues in Britain, France, Germany Italy and Spain so I can't comment on the odds or liquidity of the other leagues. |

my 2cents. i do like betfair but i dont care what league a game is in,if i think its a bet then i want to get on and would like a broader spectrum of bookmaker/exchange prices to compare for best price. if odds wizard price<average of xno.of bookmakers then color cell green. did a small sample of all leagues "bwin green" bets and compared @ betbrain the stake wizards top 15 matches at the time i looked where priced up best by 2xBetfair 1xExpekt 2x188bet 1xUnibet 3xBetsson 1xSportingbet 1xPaddyPower 1xMybet 1xBlueSq 1xLadbrokes 1xBwin to me it says to get the best prices the odds compilers have put up and catch the mistakes they do make more accounts might be needed. also betfair like all exchanges has a lot of very smart money in its markets and a lot less mistakes than when it first opened. I bet with a maximum of three bookmakers, why chase the bet to the last decimal? It is not unusual for me to have a low R95, my latest with 1 bookmaker is 12.87 Sorry, but it makes no sense to me. |
13. Theuth - 30 March, 2008 - 01:56:30 |
I agree with erdo. When it was first mentioned that bookies odds were coming, I thought it was going to be an average of a selected few. And then when OW suggested the odds were wrong, then I'd have a look at the match in more detail. Which is generally how I do it now on paper. I didn't, and still don't, want to see page after page of different odds from different bookies. IMO, it will clog up the GUI and detract from the real reason to use OW. Regards, Theuth |

Ive just downloaded the new version but I have none of this colour shading that is mentioned above. Also pressing F2 just says :- 'No bWin odds available for these games' on all leagues. |
17. Theuth - 24 April, 2008 - 04:39:52 |
Same here. Downloaded a new version yesterday (build 229) and there are no green squares anymore. Pressing F2 does nothing, as does going through the menu to bWin Fixed Odds. The display used to change to show the line odds but not anymore. (Edited by: 24 April, 2008 - 04:40:20) |

im not impressed.........i'd added all the lower english leagues over the past 18 months or so and after downloading new version, now find when trying to access the EnglandNL (my name for it), that it seems to have been over written by Finnish ice hockey. |

i assume by this, you pressed Yes when it asked you if you wanted to delete all .lea files during the uninstall. I learned the hard way about this also. It deleted my custom made Internationals file. Luckily for me, there's now one included. Before doing anything else, check the recycle bin. Not sure how OW deletes the files but they might be in there. If not try a file recovery program. No file is ever really deleted (unless you shred it), the file space on the disk is just reallocated and made available to be overwritten. A file recovery program might be able to find and restore your .lea file before the sector on the disk that file occupies is reused. |

nope its not that as my rugby/afl/other soccer league etc. files are still accesible. Basically, EnglandNL is still accessible but it has been over written by Finland Ice Hockey. |
