Different Tennis Lines

Postby Ron » Mon Oct 22, 2012 2:12 am

Hello Alex

I have noticed that the lines for the same tennis match varies between the "ATP-Singles" & "ATP-Singles-Hard". For an example the game tomorrow October 23rd.
Melzer - Berlocq : 2.13 - 1.89
Melzer - Berlocq : 1.35 - 3.82

What is the reason behind that? And how can we use the fair odds predictions in these circumstances?

Thank you
Ron

The reason is that ATP-Singles Hard contains results of the matches that had been held on a hard surface, while ATP Singles contains all matches. Therefore ATP-Singles Hard must be applied to hard surface odds, while ATP Singles is usually used for Davis Cup odds where the surface may not be always determined. The same pertains to the clay and grass files.

Thank you very much Alex.

I know this is not a software technical question, but do you by any chance know where one can easily acquire such information?
Do I have to surf around each tournament's homepage in order to find what surface they are playing on?

Best regards
Ron
