OVERBETTING

Postby waynet » Sat Jun 01, 2013 10:43 am

Alex,

Do the staker program facilitate the problem of overbetting?

For example, (say) one is betting ATP tennis. A value bet occurs on a player, and that value bet is available as a head to head bet and a handicap bet. The bets are not mutually exclusive. One could have a separate bankroll for head to head bets & handicap bets, but wouldn't that be overbetting? What of only one bankroll; perhaps a kind of regression to lower the bets? A 1x2 value bet in soccer will almost certainly have an Asian value bet also. This problem is common in horse racing, especially — a good value win bet is most often a good value place & show bet as well. However, betting full amounts on all three types of wagers is overbetting. Likewise, when a total is a value bet — over or under — almost for sure, one of the team totals will be a value bet also.

Stake Wizard detects mutually dependent games. For each added game, it will take the most potentially efficient betting event out from several dependent ones fed to SW. Very often double chance bets (1X, 2X) are more preferable that main fixed odds 1-X-2. So overbetting is not the case in Stake Wizard.

In my opinion, the best practice of the Stake Wizard use was discussed in the forum topic

especially at the bottom where you can find my comments.
