Mixed odds in tennis due to codes

there are two tennis tournements starting today Alex. on in serbia and one in portugal.

the games for the serbian tourney are shown both under ATP code as well as under ATPClay code.

the odds for games listed under both codes are different of course.

the Marty Fish match under atp code as hot favourite. the match odds for the atpclay code has him as the outsider according to OW odds.

the portugal tournement only shows under atp code when it is on clay.

is there a way to recode the portugal tourney in bulk without having to refer back to you each time this happens.

i know tennis has only just been added to OW so this might just be a teething problem

Hi Alex,

I also have a problem with the tennis. I keep trying to update the data for tennis but the fixtures are not updating. The same is happening for MLB; my fixtures are still showing May 2nd for MLB and May 1st for ATP. I have tried basic and express updates but nothing has changed.

I have just updated my fixtures ( 16.21pm 5th May) and they are up-to-date.
Make sure that the "Suspend Internet update" box is not checked in Options.

That's right. Sometimes, several tournaments take place at the same time, while the ATP league has just four 'subdivisions': hard, clay, grass, and carpet. Since Munich (Germany), Belgrade (Serbia), and Estoril (Portugal) tournaments are all qualified as 'clay', mixed fixtures seem to be unavoidable.

If that is the case Alex then why bother with an ATP code?

Why cannot it simply be a ATPClay coding (or whatever surface is applicable) for each tournement.

Is there any need to have ATP code show in OW at all?

I presume all ratings are based on the ATP code and then an adjustment is made for the surface.

Purely a suggestion Alex and definately not a complaint.

I have racked my brain (as small as it is) and cannot think of a way to code tournement by country and come december/january they will all be played in australia plus i think the same will apply in the usa at time.

No tennis player or soccer team should be allowed by law a name that has more than 6 letters of the alphabet or be more than 7 letters in length !!!!!. LOL

I propose to use another term for what is called 'ATP code' in the previous posts because 'ATP code' is almost always implied as 'ATP code of ethic'. Let it be e.g. 'ATP league'.

That's right, 'ATP-Single' produces another odds as compared to 'ATP-Single-Clay', etc. For instance, Roger Federer is much better on a grass compared to a hard or clay surface, and there is the case to use respective ATP league. However carpet league 'ATP-Single-carpet' has not sufficient data yet to provide reliable odds, and it is better to use the whole amount of available data. That's why 'ATP-Single' was introduced as well.

I have another quesion and i should possibly post as a seperate topic. If i do a total update, will that include the "bwin" odds at the "moment in time" or will it just be the "bwin Odds" at the last update OW did?
