ATP TENNIS NOTE

Why would one use the data from the ATP Singles update, when the Carpet, Clay, Grass and Hard updates would be more accurate?

Just asking. Probably I am missing something. Apologies in that case.

ATP Singles can be used as an integral league when there is no confidence what surface the game is held on. For instance, Davis Cup games are not classified by surfaces.

WONDERING

Alex,

Wonder if the ELO Chess style of stat may be useful in tennis. After all, only winning and losing sets count in tennis; win two (of three) sets, no matter what the game score is.

Unique really, as the winning score has to be obtained, with no time limit, whereas in most major sports, there is a time limit (or an innings limit in baseball) but no limit to what the score can be.
