I am unsure of how to properly use OW when it comes to sports that are not directly covered such as handball (the kind played in Europe, not the US street sport version). Since handball odds are typically provided as 1X2 like for soccer, it made sense to me to use soccer as the setting to calculate odds for handball. However, when looking at the odds calculations, it seems like the odds for a draw are higher than they should be. One thing that definitely is way off is Over/Under and projected score. The projected scores are consistently much higher than what is reasonable.
If I change the sport setting to use either basketball or rugby and uncheck the box for "Exclude draws", the odds for over/under and projected score seems much more reasonable but the odds for 1X2 also changes slightly, which makes me wonder which settings to use. If I run the performance tool, using the same depreciation period, I get somewhat better numbers using the soccer setting (compared to rugby) for 1X2 but obviously the over/under numbers are meaningless.
That brings me to another issue. It would be much better if the Over/Under number in the performance analysis was based on the actual historical scores rather than hardcoded based on the sport. As it is now, I can't get any accurate performance history for sports like handball or even for basketball when looking at leagues with lower scoring averages than the NBA such as the WNBA or even most of the European basketball leagues. The 193.5 score seems to only makes sense for NBA. I wish there was a way of changing that or else it is not possible to check performance for Over/Under historically for many leagues.
I would appreciate thoughts on this.
