OW Data Miner version 1.6

New version 1.6 of a standalone tool OW Data Miner is available at

OW Data Miner v1.6 implements simple interface between the web site www.scoresway.com and Odds Wizard. It can be used to create and maintain over 400 national and international soccer, hockey, basketball, women soccer, volleyball, and handball leagues that are currently missing in the list of Odds Wizard's regular updates.

Installation:

1. Download and save OWMiner16.zip (~280 kbytes) to disk.
2. Unpack the contents (2 files) to any folder.
3. Run OWMiner.exe.

New features as compared to the version 1.5:

1. Support of the new format of scoresway.com files.
2. Support of basketball, women soccer, volleyball, and handball in addition to soccer and ice hockey.

Hi, Alex
Using OW Minner v1.6, I have found one problem: when I tried to get historical data from previous seasons (for example Ukraine, 2000-2001), the all dates of mathes were discribed at current year.
Can you check the procedure of receiving of historical datas?

Yes, we are aware of that problem due to slightly changed format of the source data. We are going to fix it in the nearest future, hopefully in one week.

when you release the new version of OW??

Release of new version is subject to serious breakthrough in the constant research conducted on the theory and algorithms, and therefore its date cannot be foreseen precisely. We hope however to finalize next version by the fall of this year. Minor enchancements, e.g. visual presentation, better performance speed, etc. are released from time to time within the same version 2.10. The latest build 2.1.0.456 has been released in April.

If I use Data Miner to retrieve data for a league that's currently not on OW; Australian - New South Wales Premier League for example, and save it in the OW directory, do I still have to continuously retrieve data for this league through the Data Miner or will OW take care of future retrievals after the first retrieval from Data Miner?

Further, please advice if this Data Miner would be integrated into OW since it seems like an external means of data retrieving and a bit of a hassle. Would couldn't those leagues that are available through Data Miner be added into OW automatically on OW's first installation?

You will have to continuously retrieve such data through the Data Miner. There are too many leagues available in Data Miner (over 500), and there is no much sense to take care over all of them since popularity of many minor leagues is negligible. Yet Data Miner relies on a single source on the Net which cannot be considered 100% reliable for all the times.

At the same time, it is a good idea to add Data Miner in the Odds Wizard standard package. Thanks.

You said build 152 is a new OW Data Miner version? I'm currently using build 157. Your link points also to build 157. Is there a mistake?

That's right. Latest build number is 157.
